Founder & Senior Advisor
Clear Path Founder, Valerie Borgman worked in senior living communities for 5 years before starting Clear Path in 2015. Valerie is originally from Illinois and first visited the Pacific Northwest at the age of 16, on a church mission trip to the Yakima Indian Reservation. She fell in love with the area and never expected that years later she would have the opportunity to live in Seattle and start her business there. Valerie was one of the first group of placement professionals from across the US to take the very first nationally accredited certification exam for referral and placement agents to become a Certified Placement & Referral Specialist. Valerie is also a Certified Senior Advisor. This Nationally Accredited Certification is a study of the many issues seniors face from financial to healthcare. She always felt she wanted to do more for seniors and families who were often overwhelmed. Her goal and the goal of Clear Path is to adhere to the highest ethical standards and to bring peace to an otherwise difficult time. To “Clear the Path” and try to make this journey a little easier. Valerie is also dedicated to educating families and in 2021 started Desperately Seeking Senior Living, The Podcast. She interviews families who have been through the process as well as industry professionals. Her goal is to make this otherwise daunting topic a little more bearable.
